Catherine Zublin (she/her) recently retired from Weber State University where she served as Professor of Theatre and Costume Designer for Weber State University, Ogden, UT. It was her honor and privilege to design costumes and mentor student designers for over three decades. She has twice been named outstanding mentor by the university’s Office of Undergraduate Research. She is a 2018 recipient of the KCACTF Gold Medallion for excellence in theatre education. Her design work for Where Words Once Were was one of sixteen designs selected for publication in USITT’s Theatre Design & Technology, Summer 2018, from the work exhibited in “Design Expo 2018.” Several of the productions she’s designed have also had the honor of being remounted for the KCACTF Region VIII and The Pirated Penzance was also selected for the national festival in 1994. Zublin received her Master of Fine Arts in theatre and drama: costume design from Indiana University. She is a past Chair of Design, Technology and Management for Region VIII.
